Our Services

Family Dentist
Teeth Cleaning and Dental Hygiene
Our professional cleaning includes tooth scaling and tooth polishing and debridement if tartar has accumulated. This involves the use of various instruments or devices to loosen and remove deposits from the teeth. Teeth cleaning (also known as prophylaxis) is a procedure for the removal of tartar (mineralized plaque) that may develop even with careful brushing and flossing, especially in areas that are difficult to reach with routine tooth brushing. Keeping your gums healthy and clean helps solidify the foundation of your dental health.

Our wonderful Registered Dental Hygienists usually preform all dental cleanings. All patients are then seen by Dr. Peffly each visit to ensure the highest level of dental care.

Dental Crowns
Crowns are a cosmetic restoration used to strengthen a tooth or improve its shape. Crowns are most often used for teeth that are broken, worn, or partially destroyed by tooth decay.

Crowns are "cemented" onto an existing tooth and fully cover the portion of your tooth above the gum line. In effect, the crown becomes your tooth's new outer surface. Crowns can be made of porcelain, metal, or both. Porcelain crowns are most often preferred because they mimic the translucency of natural teeth and are very strong.

Crowns are needed when there is insufficient tooth strength remaining to hold a filling. Unlike fillings which apply the restorative material directly into your mouth, a crown is fabricated away from your mouth. Your crown is created in a lab from your unique tooth impression which allows a dental laboratory technician to examine all aspects of your bite and jaw movements. Your crown is then sculpted just for you so that your bite and jaw movements function normally once the crown is placed.

Dental Bridges
A bridge may be used to replace missing teeth, help maintain the shape of your face, and alleviate stress on your bite.

A bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. Your bridge can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials, and is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support.

The success of any bridge depends on its foundation — the other teeth, gums, or bone to which it is attached. Therefore, it's very important to keep your existing teeth, gums, and jaw healthy and strong.

Root Canal
Root canal therapy is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected.

A root canal procedure is performed when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected or the pulp becomes damaged. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.

Root canal procedures have the reputation of being painful. However, most people report that the procedure is no more painful than having a filling placed. The root canal procedure itself is not painful. Rather the period leading up to treatment is when patients feel the greatest amount of discomfort.

The team will ensure your root canal treatment will be done with the highest level of care ensuring a positive experience for a procedure that is viewed as so painful.

Night Guards
Night guards are coverings worn over teeth used to protect teeth from injury due to teeth grinding while you sleep. If you grind your teeth at night, a special dental appliance, called a nocturnal bite plate or bite splint, may be created to prevent tooth damage.

An effective night guard should be comfortable, durable, easy to clean, and should not restrict your breathing.

Sports Guard

Like night guards, sports guards are worn to protect your teeth during vigorous sporting activities. They have also been shown to decrease the incidence of concussions during collisions. A custom made sports guard will fit tighter and more comfortably than the over the counter options
